Highway Bureau, MOTC
The Highway Bureau is committed to provincial highway engineering, highway transportation management and highway supervision, simplifying administration and facilitating the people. The business scope is divided into three categories: road engineering, road transportation and road supervision, providing convenient and safe services for the public.
1952
The Soil Laboratory of Highway Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), Taiwan Provincial Government was formed in 1952.
The work of Structural design, Structural design is the determination of the number, material composition and thickness of the different layers within the pavement structure required to accommodate given load conditions.
Quality control in construction. In construction, quality control refers to the processes and procedures that are involved to ensure that all materials and completed projects meet standards and criteria that are put in place during the planning stages of the process.
1955
In 1955, we changed our name to Materials Laboratory. Office Relocation: To accommodate our growing business, we are moving our location to No. 12, Sanfu St., Wenshan Dist., Taipei City 116, Taiwan.

1967
In 1967, we changed our name to Materials Testing Laboratory of Highway Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), Taiwan Provincial Government. We continue to be responsible for materials testing. New business for material research.
1975
Office Relocation: To accommodate our growing business, we are moving our location to No. 211, Xintai Rd., Xinzhuang Dist., New Taipei City, Taiwan.
1999
In 1999, we changed our name to Materials Testing Laboratory of Highway Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).
2002
In 2002, we changed our name to Materials Testing Laboratory, Directorate General of Highways, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).
2023
In 2023, we changed our name to Material Technology Institute, Highway Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).
